Why don’t auto electricians, mechanics or tire shops replace the keys?

When a customer walks into your store, the first thing they’re handed is their car keys and that’s where the first problem usually starts, says Remote King.
“The customer may say: my remote doesn’t work, the key case is broken, or please don’t lose it because I don’t have a spare,” said Ian Wood, CEO of Remote King.

With changes in technology, cutting keys only requires the push of a button, and Remote King says its fully automated key cutting machines make key cutting “child’s play.”

“My job is to see where or if a product fits into a market,” Ian said.
“More recently, we’ve seen an influx of auto mechanics and electricians providing this service to their customers, with some now becoming big players in the key/remote space.
“With the evolution of fully automatic key duplicating machines with integrated touch screens or smartphone pairing, it is now as simple as pressing two buttons, duplicating and cutting.
“If that’s not simple enough, Remote King has added YouTube training videos, universal remotes/transponders and chip cloners to now simplify even the most advanced key cloning systems.
“It’s not often that a new and unique service can be offered within your shop without the requirement for additional training or staff. It’s a job that business owners often give the trainee to complete.”
