It collected data on insurance, fuel, car parking, tolls or emissions-based charges and repairs, service, and taxes.
The City of Westminster was by far the most expensive city to drive to, with annual costs of £8,722 per year.
Most of the total cost came from parking, as well as the Ultra Low Emissions Zone and Congestion Charge, which saw drivers return £3,015.
This comes as Stansted Airport was found to have the second most expensive car park in the world.
