Fuel tax: Cutting car taxes ‘wouldn’t help’ poorest despite PM candidate’s promises

Mr. Haq continued, saying: “There is also another problem here that we cannot ignore. We are in the midst of a climate crisis and also a cost of living crisis, but one does not mitigate the other.

“If we refuse to address the climate crisis, it will again be the poorest in our society who will suffer.

“It is interesting that, while the country suffocates and declares a national emergency due to the effects of climate change, the issue has barely entered the leadership race.”

He added that the UK government has encouraged companies to adopt greener and cleaner vehicles.
