Electric Cars: Cheaper EV Drivers Should Buy As Fuel Prices Soar

According to the latest RAC Fuel Watch, drivers can expect to pay 190.81 pence for a liter of petrol. The situation is even worse for diesel car owners who have to shell out an average of 198.58 per litre. And, with that in mind, motorists could start thinking about going electric.

Express.co.uk looked at some of the cheapest electric vehicles motorists in the UK can buy to save money on fuel whilst enjoying the driving experience.

Buying an electric car can be quite daunting for many reasons.

First of all, many motorists worry about the charging network and the availability of chargers.

Second, the initial cost of buying an EV can be incredibly high.

Renault Zoe came second on the list after losing £10,000 in value since 2019.

Drivers can now expect to pay just under £16,000 for a used version of the car.

The autonomy of the car is about 250 miles.

Jaguar I Pace

Jaguar I-Pace took third place after losing more than £20,000 in value.

However, despite the drop, the car still costs around £42,000.

Although it seems out of reach for most people, buying a used I-Pace will result in savings of £20,000.

Smart ForTwo Equalizer:

A used Smart ForTwo EQ can now be picked up for £14,700.

The car has dropped almost 40 per cent in value since 2019 from the original price of £22,775.

It is a perfect car for urban driving with a range of around 60 miles.
